Regulations for International Language and Culture Exchange

1.活動目的：推展中華文化，促進國際交流。
Purpose: Allow students to practice a foreign language with native speakers.

2.申請資格：【師大在校生或在職員工】以及【師大國語中心學季班外籍生】。非本校在學生或在職員工恕不受理申請。
Who is eligible: Current NTNU (National Taiwan Normal University) students or staff and MTC (Mandarin Training Center) students. Alumni may not apply.

3.申請時間及方法：每年3、6、9、12月的1至15日開放線上報名申請。申請連結(mtc.ntnu.edu.tw/le/)。
How to apply: Every year, from the 1st to the 15th of March, June, September, and December, students may register online via the website (mtc.ntnu.edu.tw/le/).

4.申請時間截止後約10個工作天，本中心會將篩選資格符合之候選人，依照申請交換之語言優先順序隨機配對，並將配對結果email至連絡信箱。
Ten business days after registration closes, we will check to make sure that all those registered meet the eligibility requirements. We will then randomly match qualifying students with a suitable language partner and introduce them via email.

5.由於每期人數及語言需求不定，故不一定每位申請人都能安排到交流對象；本中心將不另行公告名單。
Because the abilities of students vary with each session, it is not guaranteed that everyone who registers will be matched with a partner. We will only email students that we match. If you don’t receive an email, please register again during the next session.

6.決定語言交換的對象資料後，由雙方自行聯絡交換時間及地點，本中心不介入協調。
Once students receive their partner’s contact information, they may decide on a time and place to meet; we will not schedule a meeting for you.

7.本活動第一個月為申請及行政作業時間，後兩個月為交流時間，每三個月受理申請一次，資料庫亦將更新重置。有興趣繼續參加本活動者，請在下一期開放時間重新申請。
Every language exchange period is about two months long while the database resets every three months. If you wish to be considered for a partner again, even if you have previously registered, you still need to register online again when the system reopens.

8.本活動以建立師大在學生或在職員工與本中心外籍學生之良好交流平台為主，強調交流雙方能以文化及語言溝通為主要訴求，若您有其他目的(例如：家教、工作等等)，請尋求其他管道，本中心概不受理。
This is a language exchange program, not a place to find a private tutor or help in preparing for an exam. Please look elsewhere if you need those types of services.

9.請務必填寫確實可聯絡得到的資料，並且嚴禁冒名頂替。
Please enter your correct contact information when registering. Applicants may not register for others.

10.申請完成表示本期確實有意願交流語言文化，不得因故不連絡。若有情節重大，本中心有權利取消您的資格，亦可將您列為拒絕往來，往後不再受理同一人之申請。
Registering online indicates that you are committed to meeting with a conversation partner. Outside of serious issues, if you decide to not stay in contact with your language partner after you are matched you will be ineligible for future registration.

11.為保障雙方學生之校外安全，活動建議相約於安全之公共場合。
We recommend for students’ safety that they choose a public place to meet with their conversation partners.

12.本中心保有相關活動修改之全部權利。當我們在活動的規定上有重大變更時，會在我們的官方網站上公布內容。
We reserve the right to make changes to the program at any time. Any new information will be posted on the MTC website.
